Two Aurora officers and a suspect shot in exchange of gunfire remain in hospitals.

The two Aurora Police Department officers wounded in Denver in a shootout remained hospitalized on Tuesday.

A robbery suspect who was injured in the exchange of gunfire also remained hospitalized.

The officer-involved shooting happened Monday night in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood in the 4700 block of Argonne Street, police said.

The Aurora officers, who were on assignment with the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force, were following an armed-robbery suspect and tried to contact the man when he ran. The suspect attempted to steal a vehicle to flee and the shootout followed.

Both officers have non-critical injuries, said Matthew Longshore, an Aurora police spokesman. They have not been identified.

The suspect, who was in critical condition on Monday night, remained in the hospital on Tuesday, said Jay Casillas, a Denver police spokesman. The suspect has not been identified.
