Puerto Rican record producer Flow La Movie was one of nine people who were killed when a private jet crash-landed at Las Américas international airport in the Dominican Republic late last night.

The 38-year old producer and manager, real name Jose Angel Hernandez, died alongside his girlfriend Debbie Von Marie Jiménez García, and their four-year-old son when the aircraft burst into flames.

Their social media accounts are filled with images of them enjoying luxurious private flights, including one of Hernandez posing on the wing of an aircraft that could well be the last picture of the Te Bote hitmaker alive.

The HI1050 Gulfstream GIVSP had taken off from La Isabela international airport in El Higüero but declared an emergency shortly after takeoff and diverted to Las Américas some 20 miles away.

However, the plane crashed on landing, bursting into flames on the runway.

According to a statement from Helidosa Aviation Group, which owned the aircraft, the nature of the emergency onboard was not immediately clear.

"For Helidosa, this accident causes us great pain and sorrow. We stand in solidarity with the affected families that, along with us, are going through a difficult time."

Brigadier General Enmanuel Souffront Tamayo, director of the Air Accidents Investigative Commission, said that it would be "premature" to speculate about the cause of the accident.

As well as Hernandez and his family, US nationals Keilyan Hernández Pena, 21, Yeilianys Jeishlimar Meléndez Jiménez, 18, and Jesiel Yabdiel Silva, 13 were also killed in the crash.

Pilot Luis Tancredo, 47, his co-pilot Emilio Herrera, 32, and stewardess Veronica Estrella, 26 also died.

Tributes have poured in for the producer in the wake of the accident.

"With immense sadness and pain, the Dominican and world artistic community loses a great producer," singer-songwriter Ricardo Montaner said.
