Seven sex offenders arressted in Arvada sweep

Seven sex offenders wanted on outstanding warrants were arrested last week by Arvada police and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Authorities served warrants at 27 residences in Arvada as part of the coordinated sweep, Arvada police said. Among the suspects arrested was 48-year-old Joseph Tyler.

Tyler is also being investigated for allegedly running a scam targeting elderly victims, police said. Tyler and his partner allegedly offer tree trimming services to metro-area seniors, start the work, collect payment and then fail to complete the job. Anyone victimized in such a tree-trimming scam is asked to call police at 303-980-7300.
