Sarah Ferguson, who turns 62 today, was once married to the son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Prince Andrew, which means she has ties to one of the richest families in the world.
Fergie, as she is widely known, married Prince Andrew on July 23, 1986 at Westminster Abby, and became the Duchess of York.
They went on to have two children together before divorcing, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who have both since had babies.
Six years after their wedding, in 1992, they announced their separation, and finalised the divorce on May 30 1996.
But after the divorce she ran into financial difficulty, saying in an interview with Oprah Winfrey she was 'continually on the verge of financial bankruptcy'.
