Prince Harry used to get "the mickey" taken out of him at school over a habit he learned from Prince Charles.
The royal revealed that he used to be mocked over picking up litter while he was at school, a habit he picked up from his dad.
The heir to the throne encouraged his lad to pick up litter whenever the pair were out and about.
Harry told a 2018 documentary to mark his dad's 70th birthday in 2018: "I used to get taken the mickey out of at school for just picking up rubbish.
"I don't go consciously looking for it. When you go for walks anywhere, if you see something, it stand out, you pick it up.
"It's like I've literally done this because I'm programmed to do it, because my father did it. Actually, we should all be doing it."
The BBC documentary, called Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70 features contributions from a number of different members of the Royal Family.
In the show it was also revealed that Harry shares another strange habit with his dad and brother Prince William – and his wife Meghan Markle finds it very strange.
The Duke of Sussex said the family are all obsessed with turning lights off, all stemming from his dad Charles.
Harry said: "He's a stickler for turning lights off.
"And that's now something that I'm obsessed with as well, which is insane because actually, my wife goes: 'Well, why turn the lights off? You know it's dark.'
"I go: 'We only need one light, we don't need like six,' and all of a sudden, it becomes a habit and those small habit changes he's making, every single person can do.
"And I think that's one of the key lessons certainly that I felt that he taught us."
William agreed with his brother, adding: "I know I've got serious OCD on light switches now which is terrible."
The documentary also revealed that Harry still refers to the late Princess Diana as mummy while he opened up about asking his father to walk Meghan down the aisle at their wedding.
