Pervert pensioner lost control after seeing 12-year-old school girl in uniform

A depraved pensioner 'lost control' and exposed himself after he saw a 12-year-old school girl in school uniform, a court has heard.

Magistrates heard how Steven Duxbury became aroused and then engaged in a sex act.

Prosecutor Scott Parker told the court how the 71-year-old had convictions for possessing indecent images of children in 2012, when he was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order, and from 2017, when he was jailed for 12 months.

“There was a suggestion in that case that he had engaged in (a sex act) on a bus in front of a schoolgirl,” said Mr Parker.

In this case, local police attended the scene after a member of the public reported seeing a man on Blackburn Market who had been performing a sex act, with his behaviour being witnessed by a child.

Mr Parker said the 12-year-old girl saw the defendant sitting on a bench nearby and he kept looking over at her and making her feel more and more uncomfortable.

“She looked again and could see he was (performing a sex act) and licking his lips.

“She told her mother who could clearly see what he was doing. He was detained by security until the police arrived.”

Zabair Afzal, defending, said his client had been very open and frank with the police.

“He says he just lost all control,” said Mr Afzal.

The pensioner pleaded guilty to both indecent exposure and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and is awaiting sentencing.
