One person suffered smoke inhalation in Denver townhome fire on Friday.

A person suffered smoke inhalation and a dog died in a multi-residential fire in Denver on Friday.

The two-alarm blaze broke out before noon at the Granville Townhomes, 1885 S. Quebec Way, according to firefighters. The Denver Fire Department and South Metro Fire Rescue responded to the fire.

One person suffered “significant” smoke inhalation and minor burns and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, according to DFD. Five dogs were rescue and one dog died.

Four townhome residences were destroyed.

Flames and smoke were visible from both floors of a two-story unit when firefighters arrived on scene. An DFD investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
