Missing boy found wandering streets with protective stray pitbull by his side

A young boy has reunited with his parents after he was spotted by a neighbour wandering the streets with a stray dog, who never left his side.

Little Kh’amorion Taylor managed to get out of the house and spent the morning walking in his pyjamas around the neighbourhood of Baden in north of St Louis, Missouri, US on Thursday.

A woman walking her dog in the area saw the boy travelling with a large pitbull, who was seemingly protecting the child.

She told Fox 2: "He looked well taken care of, he was very neat, very clean; he just didn’t have the shoes on.

"I knocked on the doors up and down the street. Knocked on the doors, no answers; no one who did answer, they didn’t recognise the child."

The neighbour, who doesn't wish to reveal her name, spent hours looking for the boy's family and eventually shared the news on social media and alerted the police to pick up the child.

Kh'amorion's dad eventually recognised him on a social media post and was reunited with him thanks to the neighbour.

Heartwarming footage taken by Fox 2 shows the boy greeting his parents outside their home and holding his father's hand while looking for his four-legged friend.

The officers show him the lovely black and white pooch before taking it on to the police car.

After saving the tot, the neighbour said: "It is important that we stick together, that we help each other, that we go back to the things that our grandparents and their community used to do.

"That we build a sense of unity."

According to police, the child kept murmuring "puppy" while waiting for his father to show up.

The St Louis Police Department is now considering adopting the stray pitbull, the report stated.
