Donald Trump’s poses for photographs may be completely down to the “influence” of his wife, Melania, according to an explosive new book. The latest biography of the US First Lady, ‘The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump’ by Mary Jordan, alleges that she taught her husband a “model technique” for better photographs. Former Shadow Chancellor Michael Portillo discussed the book’s content on Times Radio during his literary review.

He told listeners: “The one revelation that comes from the book is the information that is new.

“If you look at photographs of Donald Trump, you always see him holding his chin at a strange angle.

“He sort of has this Mussolini-esque way of sticking his chin out.

“Apparently this is a model technique that Melania Trump told him about.”

He continued: “If they want to look good in photographs, stick their chins out and put their tongues on the roof of their mouths.

“This is to emphasise the definition in their jaw.

“This is something that Donald Trump has picked up from Melania.

“Possibly her only influence on his presidency as far as we know.”

Mrs Trump previously worked as a model after growing up in Slovenia.

She also attended the University of Ljubljana for one year, studying architecture.

The now President met his future wife in a New York nightclub in 1998, and they were married in 2005.

On their relationship, Ms Jordan wrote: “I don’t know any couple that spends as much time apart.

“They are often in the same building, but nowhere near each other.”

She claims Melania has her own area of the house with a spa.

The author goes on: “She rarely goes into the West Wing. She doesn’t like to golf. She has her own little spa. She likes to be isolated.

“She is a loner. He is a loner. They’re perfectly happy to be separated.”
