The move is a step towards moving the South and North’s relationship back on track.

The announcement came just days after Kim Jong-un, North Korean leader, stated his intention to repair the severed connection with the South.

“The relevant organs decided to restore all the North-South communication lines from 9:00 on October 4 true to his intention,” the North’s official Korean Central News Agency said.
