The last trace of Robert Lowery, 46, was reportedly a ping from his cellphone in the city of Jackson.
Mr Lowery was last seen on video at a restaurant in Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village on August 19.
Remains matching his description were discovered near the Black Canyon Trail at the base of Teton Pass on Tuesday, Houston's KPRC-TV reported.
Sheriff Deputy Chad Sachse said the coverage into Gabby's case led tipsters to provide new information about Mr Lowery, who went missing 40 miles from where the tragic YouTuber's body was found.
