Brian Laundrie’s remains were discovered last Wednesday in a thickly woody park in Florida. As skeletal parts were found, it is believed that Brian's dead body has been devoured by wild animals.
The 23-year-old disappeared after returning home without his girlfriend Gabby Petito, whose body was discovered in September.
Brian’s skeletal human remains were found five weeks later, inside the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, a location known to inhabit predatory wildlife, the New York Post reports.
A man, who lives approximately a mile from the reserve, revealed that the coroner “won’t have much to work on”, as the 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve is home to alligators and wild pigs.
“They’re evil animals and will eat anything. Any flesh out in the open will not be wasted,” he told the New York Post.
As the FBI confirmed on October, 20 that the remains that had been discovered belonged to Gabby Petito’s boyfriend, Brian, only “bones” had been reportedly found.
Consequently, dental record comparison had to be used in order to identify the body, which laid near where a backpack and a notebook were found a day earlier, and were confirmed to belong to the man.
Moreover, the FBI reportedly suggested that Brian had been dead for “a significant period of time” before his remains were found.
This astonishing tragedy follows the discovery of Gabby Petito’s body, found on September 21, after she had disappeared on August 27.
Gabby was last seen at a restaurant, where she apologised to staff members for arguing with Brian.
The 22-year-old woman’s body was discovered in Wyoming, before post-mortem analysis reportedly confirmed that she had died from strangulation.
Gabby, who was travelling with her boyfriend with the intent to vlog their adventures, posted a picture on Instagram for the last time on August 25, some time after the Utah Police caught the couple quarreling on the road.
Body cam footage from the police, which was released in August, showed a teary Gabby describing a fight she and Brian had had. Police had stopped the couple following a call they received where a witness saw Brian slapping Gabby.

The couple had travelled through Kansas, Colorado, Utah and points west, as Gabby intended to document their "van life" on social media.
However, on September 1, their adventure took a sinister turn when Brian suddenly returned to his parents' home in Florida, without his girlfriend. Subsequently, Brian disappeared after telling his parents that he was going hiking.
Following his mysterious disappearance, concerns over Gabby’s whereabouts grew, and Brian was soon named a person of interest in her case.
His parents, Chris and Roberta Laundrie have since acknowledged Brian’s death, before releasing a reticent statement through their lawyer reading: “We have no further comment at this time and we ask that you respect the Laundrie’s privacy at this time.”
