A Saturday snow shower will interrupt the long weather pattern Denver has had, which will continue next week.
Friday’s weather will be sunny with a high of 48 degrees. According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, light winds will blow in some clouds later in the evening as the temperature drops to 21 degrees.
Clouds will bring in weather and stunt the high-temperature Saturday at 33 degrees as snow, mostly after 1 p.m., will fall. There is a 70% chance of snow, mainly falling before midnight. Wind will stay around 5 mph out of the north all day and night as new snow accumulation could reach 1 or 2 inches. Even with a Saturday night low of 22 degrees, the ground may be too warm for the snow stick in the metro area. Travel will be slick late Saturday, and four inches of snow could fall just outside of Denver in the foothills.
Sunday will clear up but will remain cold; the high will be 39 degrees. Overnight the low will drop into the teens.
An early look at the start of next week projects days with highs around 50 under clear skies.
