Denver weather: Snow and rain mix interrupt mild stretch – The Denver Post

The dry and mild temperatures Denver has been enjoying the first part of the week will come to a short end.

According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Wednesday will be a warm and sunny 61 degrees with a low of 30 degrees.

Thursday has a 70% chance of precipitation, but what type will depend mainly on elevation and when the storm hits. No snow accumulation is expected, but a rain and snow mix will turn to snow later in the day across the plains. The mountains could see some snow that sticks.

The evening commute could be very slick around the metro area. North winds that gust up to 25 mph in the afternoon will come with the system. The temperature will drop to 32 degrees overnight.

Denver will be back near 60 degrees and sunny Friday followed by a low of 32 degrees. It will kick off a mostly sunny weekend with temperatures expected to be in the 60s, possibly through next Tuesday.
