Denver police have asked Cinco de Mayo revelers to abide by Denver’s stay-at-home order and practice physical distancing Tuesday.
And the Denver Police Department issued a special warning for the traditionally busy Federal Boulevard celebrations where people cruise the strip, creating bumper-to-bumper traffic. If Federal becomes too busy on Tuesday, the department will divert traffic in other directions, according to a Denver Police Department news release.
Police emphasized that there are no organized Cinco de Mayo events around Civic Center Park this year because of Denver’s COVID-19 public health orders prohibiting large social gatherings, the news release said.
“It’s critical for each of us to do our part and follow the stay-at-home order — avoiding group celebrations and cruising activities — in order to protect the health and well being of our friends, families and neighbors,” Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen said in the news release.
