A Grimsby dad-of-two was killed after a birthday party for his wife that ended in chaos.

Adam Krozolinowski, 32, died from stab wounds on Saturday night, and his wife Anna Krozolinowski, 27, has appeared in court charged with his murder and possession of a knife, Grimsby Live reports.

The couple had been celebrating her birthday earlier that day with a garden party at their Duncombe Street home for friends, family and neighbours.

Hours later Adam was found with stab wounds a short distance away on Freeman Street, and later died in hospital.

The couple, who had two young daughters together, were known to other residents of the area as a happy family.

Neighbours say they heard the party becoming increasingly rowdy as the afternoon went on, but didn't think it was unusual.

One neighbour said: "I heard shouting shortly after and when I woke up later that evening, there were police officers outside, but I never dreamed anything like that had happened.

“It’s such a tragedy to happen right on your doorstep. Those poor children.”

Adam was found around 8 pm near the Freeman Arms with fatal stab wounds.

Anna appeared in Grimsby Magistrates Court on Monday morning charged with murder and the possession of an offensive weapon.

Anna, also understood to be a seafood factory worker, was originally from the city of Zamość in south-eastern Poland.

The family moved into the home on Duncombe Street four years ago, and had been in Grimsby since 2015.

The couple had just celebrated their second wedding anniversary.

Adam and Anna were often seen socialising with friends, enjoying a drink outside their home.

Neighbours say they were polite and friendly, saying hello to whoever they saw.

A Duncombe Street resident said: “They were a nice, normal family, you wouldn’t expect them to be involved in anything like this.

“They often walked their dog at the same time and stopped for a chat – the idea that someone you saw every day is gone will take a while to sink in.”

She has been remanded in custody until her next court date on April 28.
