Matt Hancock shuts down host questioning vaccine roll out
Health Secretary Matt Hancock proudly stated that Britain has been the first in the world on a number of fronts with regards to the COVID-19 vaccine. He added that in 2020 the UK vaccinated more people than the rest of Europe put together.
Mr Hancock said: “Capacity is limited to the number of vaccines we get in.
“That is what is determining the speed, if the NHS needs to go faster then it will go faster.
“If there were 2 million doses being delivered each week, the NHS would deliver at that speed.
“That supply is not there yet but we are working very closely with the manufacturers.”

The BBC host asked: “You have known about this for some time, has this not been planned for?”
The Health Secretary replied: “Yes, of course, it has been planned for that is why it is happening first in the world.
“That is why we have got the NHS ready with 700 sites, increasing to 1000.
“In 2020 we have vaccinated more people in the UK than the rest of Europe put together.

“British science has got us to first in the world on this vaccine.
“I have been planning for this moment since January and that is why we have been first in the world.”
