The findings came after Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove called for the “refinement” of the deal over Northern Ireland’s Brexit arrangements. Mr Gove, who was responsible for the Government’s no deal planning, said when the EU attempted to restrict Covid vaccines from entering the Six Counties it marked a setback in relations with Brussels.
He said: “It was a moment when trust was eroded, when damage was done and where movement is required in order to ensure that we have an appropriate reset.”
Express.co.uk conducted an exclusive poll asking readers if they thought the Prime Minister should scrap the deal in light of the bloc’s brazen move.
Asked if they would like to see Mr Johnson tear up the deal and renegotiate post-Brexit trade rules with the EU, 81 percent (6,106) of respondents said yes.
Only 17 percent (1,261) said they would like to see Britain stick with the current deal.
And just two percent (188) said they didn’t know.
In comments, some readers lashed out at the deal which the UK and the EU struck on Christmas Eve.
Many reader said they would rather see the UK trade with Brussels on the terms set out by the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
One person said: “Scrap the deal and just make a statement of what the new scenario will be – take it or leave it – no more negotiating anything.”
Another said: “Just scrap the deal for WTO.”
Another person said the price of entering into a trade agreement with the bloc was simply too high.
They said: “Actually i think we should bin the whole Brexit deal and move immediately to WTO terms and only deal with the EU on WTO terms for as long as they survive.

“They have shown they are never to be trusted and all the time they think they can negotiate with us they will whittle away at our sovereignty bit by bit.
“We just need to dump any trade agreement with the EU as the price is too high and they supply us with nothing we can’t get elsewhere.”
Others said the EU was only seeking to make gains for itself and had no interest in treating the UK fairly in its trading relationship.
The reader wrote: “It seems the EU don’t want to allow trade with the UK but they want our businesses over there .”
And another echoed their frustration, saying: “Scrap the deal. The EU are not interested, they only want our total capitulation.
“We have the world to play with and trade with. Europe is too intransigent.”
On Tuesday Mr Gove said he wants to see practical changes on the ground to the implementation of the Northern Ireland protocol, which came into force at the start of the year and relates to post-Brexit trade.
The senior minister said: “I want the protocol to work and I think there are ways in which we can do that by making practical changes on the ground.”
The poll ran from 8.18pm to 8pm on Tuesday, February 9, with a total of 7,555 readers taking part.
