Covid-19 coronavirus: Today’s Covid cases, update on Perth investigation

There is one Covid case to report today in managed isolation.

The person travelled from Britain via Qatar and tested positive on day 6.

There are no community cases to report, the Ministry of Health said.

The Ministry of Health is also continuing to monitor developments in Western Australia where there have been no new cases of Covid in the community reported.

The risk to New Zealanders remains low.

However, new locations of interest have been listed on the Western Australian Government website for people who were in Perth between April 27 and May 1. Those travellers are advised to continue checking the site for updates.

So far, no travellers who arrived in New Zealand have contacted Healthline to say they were at any of the locations of interest currently connected to these cases at the specified times.

Anyone who has been at a location of interest cannot travel to New Zealand from Australia within 14 days of exposure.

The more than 800 passengers who travelled either directly or indirectly between Western Australia and New Zealand between those dates have all been contacted by the Ministry of Health’s contact tracing team.

As for the green zone breach at Brisbane Airport, there are 29 people in New Zealand considered casual plus contacts and are today due for their day five test. These results will be available in the coming days.

The remaining passengers who weren’t at the locations of interest at the specified times are advised to continue to continue to monitor their health and if symptoms develop, call Healthline and get a test.

There are 24 active cases in New Zealand, some of the lowest infection levels since last August.

There were four new cases in managed isolation announced yesterday, which came from Pakistan, the Philippines, Indonesia and India.

The total number of tests processed by laboratories to date is now 2,031,925, with 2726 tests processed on Monday. The seven-day rolling average of processed tests as at yesterday is 3872.
